A mother who had an only son,

but she was crazy

and she was not patient enough

to raise it,

put him inside her apron

and she headed to the river

to throw him inside.

In her way

as she was hitting the road

she run into a partridge

and this partridge says to her:

You bitch, you atheist

you silly whore

I have eighteen birds,

I'm struggling to raise them

and you've given birth to a golden son

and are you going to drown him?

And then she put him into her apron,

she went back to her house

she put him in his cradle,

and sings to him with these words:

My son, when you will become a hunter,

when you will become a lad,

if you meet a partridge,

do not kill her.

This partridge is your mother

and I am only your step- mother.
