Au revoir [English translation]

[Mark Forster]

In this house where I live

Everything is so accustomed to me,

So habitual that it makes me sick

Man, every day is just the same

I'm going in circles in my pond

All I want is to get out of here

I need more space and some fresh air

I must go somewhere else real quick

Otherwise I adhere to this

I take a header through the door

I leave it all behind

I've set my sights onto something big

I'll never come back to my place

[Mark Forster]

There is nothing that keeps me here, Au revoir

Forget, who I was

Forget my name

Things will never be the same again

I'm gone , Au -, Au -

Au -, Au -, Au revoir

Au revoir

Au revoir

Au revoir

[Sido]

Auf Wiedersehen? No, no "See you again"!

I packed my things, I hit the road

Otherwise it'll stay a dream for ever

I need freedom, to set out for journeys

I'll do all the stuff I didn't have the chance to

Go to Alaska on a rubber boat

Dive into Singapore's cold waters

I'll be going way down yonder, recharge my batteries

See places others haven't even heard of

Feel like Humboldt or Steve Irwin

Take a seat on the Mayans' throne in the jungle

In Messner's, Indiana Jones' footsteps

The phoenix is taking off now

Au revoir, my friends, have a good time

I tell my old life adieu, hit the sack, kick the pack!

I do like the Indian children do, do the shoe of Manitou 1

[Mark Forster]

There is nothing that can make me stay, Au revoir

Forget, who I was

Forget my name

It'll never be the way it was before

I'm gone , Au -, Au -,

Au -, Au -, Au revoir

Au revoir

Au revoir

Au revoir

There is nothing that can make me stay, Au revoir

Forget, who I was

Forget my name

It'll never be the way it was before

I'm gone , Au -, Au -,

Au -, Au -, Au revoir

Au revoir

Au revoir

Au revoir

1. He ist referring to two different things here but connecting them in the same line: 1st: notorious child labour in India, which can be shoemaking 2nd: the german coloquial "mach 'n Schuh", meaning: to get off. Since that is untranslatable, my translation referrs to a German comedy movie: "Der Schuh des Manitou"
