One morning as the sun was lifting,

And the fields were waving to greet the day,

I saw a bird of song winging my way.

Her breast was the color of the sun

As the wings swept the dawn.

I wished that I could be among such noble ones.

But I was born to the earth as she was the sky.

And I'll build my home of stones.

And she'll build a nest of weeds,

And that's her need
