Castillos [English translation]

Once, there was a honey land,

with vermilion tile roofs,

where I was the queen and he was the king,

in a kingdom of love tales.

My magical castle in the air

used to shine transparently under the sun.

But there was a cruel storm

and the castle fell from the sky.

Through the sunlight I saw opening at my feet

an abyss, it was his heart.

Then I could see his true self,

and what I found out tore me apart.

My king was a stone monster,

his heart was made of stone.

He paid for my love with stones.

He broke my illusions with stones.

I was once so devoted and naive,

that I believed in this fairy tale

and I paid so much for my stupidity,

that I can't dare to dream anymore.

I don't want any more castles in the air,

nor kings who can hurt without mercy.

My king was a stone monster,

his heart was made of stone.

His love was always a lie.

Today, the castles are ruins.
