Den [English translation]
Den [English translation]
(Music: Filip Horáček
Text: Filip Horáček)
When a tear falls onto the notebook
and hopes that no one will see it
On the door is the sign: "Do not disturb"
for unauthorized people that don't belong anywhere
As if somebody was dying
but there's no one it could be
This layabout rolls about
on their stomach as though laughing
As though they had no idea at all
That tomorrow will be a new day
and what exists now is only a dream
that won't stay long
Birds are singing, perhaps they have
a perishable address1
at a disused railway station.
Tomorrow they will let out the beautiful ones
onto the street and the square
Happiness bows somewhere
that it falls somewhere, count on it
so take a good look
and then take it into your hands
When a tear falls onto the tablecloth
and everybody's already gone to sleep
it's not worth trying anymore
and there's nothing to give to anyone
There's nothing to take anymore either
to hand over one's body without a soul
and the heart begs: "don't hold back,
don't ever dry these tears"
and probably has no idea
That tomorrow will be a new day
and what exists now is only a dream
that won't stay long
Birds are singing, perhaps they have
a perishable address
at a disused railway station.
Tomorrow they will let out the beautiful ones
onto the street and the square
Happiness bows somewhere
that it falls somewhere, count on it
so take a good look
and then take it into your hands
1. Meaning that they won't stay for long; they'll fly away again soon.
