Earlene Bentley - Stargazing
Earlene Bentley - Stargazing
I've got stargazing
Stargazing, yes I am
Stargazing
Oh, yes I am
Heavens above1 I'm in love!
The stars tell me it's true
It feels so right
Tonight is the night
I'm standin' close to you
You're my lucky charm
You keep me from harm
It's written in the sky
You're an angel in disguise
[Chorus]
Stargazing
Your love is amazing
Stargazing
Your love is amazing
To me
So, so, so, so amazing to me
Your love, your love, your love,
Your love, your love, your love, your love
The hand of fate
Oh, it made me hesitate
I hoped to meet Mr. Right
Night and day I dreamed away,
Wishin' with all my might
Aditsa [?] told me to try
That love, love wouldn't pass me by
Did just what she said
Now love has gone to my head
[Chorus]
Your love is so amazing
Your love is so amazing
Your love is so amazing
Your love
Your love, your love
Your love
Heaven's above and I'm in love
The stars tell me it's true
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love with you
I always thought what I've been taught,
That true love was an illusion
Deep down inside, I couldn't hide
The feelings and confusion
Our love was meant to be
A part of destiny
Something in the air
Told me you'd be there
[Chorus]
To me, your love is so amazing
Oh, your love is truly, oh, truly amazing
Oh, I said your love is truly amazing
Your love, truly amazing
[Chorus]
Your love is truly amazing
Your love is so amazing
Love, not an illusion
I can't hide the confusion
Heavens above! I said I'm in love
The stars tell me it's true
It feels so right
Tonight is the night
I'm standin' close to you
You're my lucky charm
You keep me from harm
It's written in the skies
You're an angel in disguise
[Chorus x2]
To me
1. I can't tell if she's saying "Heaven's above" (a contraction of "heaven is above") or the idiomatic exclamation "Heavens above!" so I've written it both ways in the song depending on how it fit the context of the line. It's likely that she meant to use it both ways as wordplay.
