Gute Menschen [English translation]
Gute Menschen [English translation]
I only see good people
everywhere just good people
Everything is simple, you're simply naïve
you don't think critically, just a thread on your nape like a marionette
then off in the direction "Happiness"
a life in a corset
A good person eliminates what he doesn't know
So the good people don't feel like victims,
they learn from childhood: play robots
Elbows out and take aim at victims
arch the back upwards, earn themselves a gold cock
only happy oranges in the juicer
even the Mettigel1 laughs in their ugly faces
A good person has to do what a good person has to do
Luxury and glory, sucking around until the end2
I don't know what you all see, I only see good people
They all love children, they all donate blood
and the last thing that one still misses here
is the answer to the question: why does everything stay the same?
Soft punishments for violent foreigners, no go
no, they're not nazis, even they drink coffee Togo3
They were even on vacation in a place where black people were
and on Fathers' Day was Roberto Blanco on TV,
who was a wonderful n*gger, where's the problem?4
Child molesters must die, totally ok
Böhse Onkelz5 on the rear windshield
with German flags waving through the streets
Everything meant well, out of worry for their blood brothers
You are the People6, just anxious angry citizens
regulars' table mode, now it'll be loudly discussed
Black, red, green, everything looks mottled brown7
What, what homophobe? (no, no, no, no, no)
They're there for sick people, gays can too be cured
One hand washes the other clean
Bake brownies for the wedding, share moors' heads8
And when the first stanza9 plays in the sport clubhouse
and the brother sings, it's not at all bad
No one is deporting anybody here
everyone loves Aydin Döner – best sauce in the city
I don't know what you all have
I only see good people who don't want anything evil
no, they only think about our future
And they probably won't ever understand
why I need to puke when I see them
I don't know what you all have, I only see good people
They all love children, they all donate blood
and the last thing that one still misses here
is the answer to the question: why does everything stay the same?
1. a Mettigel is a clump of raw meat (mettwurst) made to look like a hedgehog, often served at parties2. this is a play on a German rapper lyric about foxes doing what they must3. Togo is the English "to go," but sounds like the African country Togo (i.e. exotic and means they're tolerant)4. Roberto Blanco is a famous "Schlager" singer, and black, the next line is a quote from the Bavarian minister of the interior, who used this phrasing to refer to him5. Böhse Onkelz is a German band that has a questionable rightwing/nazi background (heavily debated)6. "Wir sind das Volk" (we are the people) was originally a slogan of the East Germans during the Monday demonstrations in 1989/1990, but revived recently in the right radical movement in Germany7. these are political party colors; brown being associated with right wing/nazis8. "Moor heads" is the politically incorrect term for a kind of chocolate-covered marshmallow candy9. the first stanza of the German national anthem, now banned (the famous "über alles" portion of the anthem)
