La Jardinera [English translation]
La Jardinera [English translation]
To forget you,
I'm going to cultivate the earth.
I hope I can find in it
some remedy for my sorrow.
Here I'll plant the rose bed
with the thickest spines,
I will have the crown ready
for when you die inside me.
For my sadness, a blue violet,
red carnation for my passion,
and to know if you love me back
I pick the petals off a white chamomille.
If you love me a lot, a bit, or nothing,
my heart will stay calm anyway.
Little by little, the cheerful pansies will grow
When they are finally in bloom,
your memories will go far away.
I will be the best friend
of the poppy flower,
I'll put my pillow over it
so I can sleep calmly.
For my sadness, a blue violet,
red carnation for my passion,
and to know if you love me back
I pick the petals off a white chamomille.
If you love me a lot, a bit, or nothing,
my heart will stay calm anyway.
Sprout of lemon balm,
when my sorrows are growing,
the flowers from my garden
will be my nurses.
And if I'm not here
by the time you repent,
You will inherit these flowers,
come and cure yourself with them.
For my sadness, a blue violet,
red carnation for my passion,
and to know if you love me back
I pick the petals off a white chamomille.
If you love me a lot, a bit, or nothing,
my heart will stay calm anyway.
