Le Nougat [English translation]
Le Nougat [English translation]
I wake up with spirit,
I plug the electric coffee machine,
I rush into the bathroom,
and I become paralytic.
In the shower there's an elephant
who stares at me tenderly.
Blushing I balbutiate,
looking crazy probably :
"But how on Earth did you enter
For the door was closed ?"
He smiles and says to me :
"Don't worry, give me nougat !
Don't worry, give me nougat !"
I leap onto the telephone,
I dial the 17 and I boom :
"I live at the 1, rue Bidouche,
There's an elephant in my shower"
The cop tells me : "Go there yourself
It will solve all your problems"
Confused I hurtle again
At the place where I left this weirdo.
Nobody's in the shower, he left ;
there he is lying in my bed,
he stares at me and says to me :
"Listen, you, give me nougat,
Listen, you, give me nougat !"
I say : "I'll go get some for you,
It's in the kitchen nearby."
I go there then I head elsewhere,
I put on a coat and a cape
to cover up my nudity,
And I flee down the stairs,
I cavort like a damned soul
Across the whole town on foot.
At last I come up at a friend's
Who will welcome me on his breast.
He opens the door and says to me :
"Sit down, give me nougat,
sit down, give me nougat !"
I galloped on at Marina's
who is more than a sister to me,
At once she gave me something to drink,
I told her the entire story.
She said : "So what did you do ?
- Me, I gave him the nougat."
That said I go get me a zoot
and leave for Montélimard.
She's like : "I come with you !
I too want nougat !
I too want nougat !
I too want nougat !
I too want nougat !
I too want nougat !"
