1. The word printed in the lyrics for ‘give up’ is 明らめたくて (lit. ‘want to clarify/elucidate’) which is pronounced the same way as 諦めたくて (lit. ‘want to give up’). The latter is the word that a listener would probably get from the song without reading the lyrics and it makes a bit more sense so I went with that in the translation. But the wordplay here implies not only did she want to give up, she also wanted to reaffirm herself of something – taking the dual meanings suggested self-referentially, perhaps she wanted to reaffirm that she herself had given up.
