Am Waldessaume träumt die Föhre,

Am Himmel weiße Wölkchen nur,

Es ist so still, daß ich sie höre ,

Die tiefe Stille der Natur.

Rings Sonnenschein auf Wies' und Wegen,

Die Wipfel stumm, kein Lüftchen wach,

Und doch, es klingt, als ström' ein Regen

Leis tönend auf das Blätterdach.
