When I don’t see you, I don’t sigh, don’t weep,

I don’t lose my mind, when I do see you,

Yet when I don’t see you for a long time,

I do miss something, I demand to see somebody;

And longing I put to myself a question:

Is this a friendship? or is this a love?

When you disappear from my eyes, I can’t even once

to recreate your picture in my mind?

Still, often I feel it seems always to be,

Even without my will, close to my memory.

And again I do repeat the question:

Is this a friendship? or is this a love?

I suffered often, not thinking at all

About coming to you to spill my sorrows;

Walking aimlessly, not watching my steps,

I don’t understand, how did I end at your doorstep;

And entering I ask myself a question;

What brought me here? friendship or love?

For your health I would trade my life

I would enter the hell for your peace of mind;

Although there is no daring lust in my heart

I would be for you a peace and a health.

And again I do repeat the question:

When you lay your hand on my palms,

A kind of lovely quietude me surrounds,

It seems, with a nice dream my life will part;

But what wakes me up is quicker beat of my heart,

Which poses before me a question:

When for you I have this song created

No prescient ghost had my mouth ruled;

Full of amazement, I did not myself see,

Where did I find the thoughts, how the rhymes came to be;

And at the end I wrote the question:

What has inspired me? friendship or love?
