They used to walk together and not quarrel about trifles

All people around were wondering: how come that they are not a man and wife?

She drove him insane with only one silly thing:

He was suffering every time it was getting dark out there

He wasn't sleeping, for the night he was locking the window

He kept weeping and drinking bitter tea in the kitchen

At that time1 when she was flying every night

And then in the morning she was swearing

that yesterday was the last time

He was forgiving. But at night once it is dark out there

she was flying away despite of that

He was presenting her roses, buying her perfumes,

dedicating her songs and writing her poetry

He was clutching with a straw like a complete fool

He was fearing that one day, under the full moon,

she will forget the way home

And that's exactly what happened one night

He was suffering every time it was getting dark out there

Kept sitting by the window and looking to the sky,

kept repeating her name, kept going out to meet her at the cornice

And when the moon went for his death2

He stepped out of the window just as she used to do

He took off just as she used to do

But not upward, downward

The next morning she was swearing

that yesterday was the last time
