Reina de Egipto [English translation]
Reina de Egipto [English translation]
Where the passing of time took away
the footprints that you will no longer tread,
a voice sleeps that exists waiting for you.
In the night hours, the wind talks to you,
imploring the desert to awaken
where your being returns to earth to wander
and return, to mock death
and to find again
the light that the stars give you.
Egypt cries for you wherever you are,
your memory will arise again
and come back, to mock death
and to again find
the light that the stars give you.
Beneath the sands of the desert
lives the memory of a woman
She was the unfaithful slave of an empire,
servant and lover of the people, and her faith
made her land her destiny.
She was the Queen of Egypt and it gave her her power
She fought with death for her nobility ,
and waiting for her one night, it tore her life away.
They say that the the magic of her face
robbed men of their faith and their reason.
The mistress of pleasures that contained
occult charms that spoke of love.
An imprisoned slave of her soul,
she paid with her life for her noble ambition.
With the poison of a cobra, she died sacrificing herself.
It was her desire to choose to end her life
It was her desire to reject living without loving
To live without loving.
Egypt cries for you wherever you are,
your memory will arise again
It was her desire to choose to end her life
It was her desire to reject living without loving
It was her desire to choose to end her life
It was her desire to reject living without loving
