Sulla carrozzella [English translation]
Sulla carrozzella [English translation]
Today, the carriage may seem like
a curious remnant of days gone by.
Everybody wants to run and fly;
they just adore speed.
But if you're with your beauty,
you'd certainly rather not take a taxi ride,
than in a horse-drawn carriage,
cruise with your sweet love by your side.
How delightful it's to ride
in a horse-drawn carriage,
and in the horse-drawn carriage
wrap your arm around your beauty.
In the driver's seat, the coachman
doesn't lose sight of us;
he looks inside the coach
then smiles and turns a blind eye.
The horse knows how to go
if it's a couple:
running won't do. The city is beautiful
and then, there's no hurry.
How delightful it's to ride
in a horse-drawn carriage,
and in the horse-drawn carriage
wrap your arm around your beauty.
Slowly goes, the horse-drawn carriage
as it leisurely carries me with my sweet love.
The evening is tranquil and so beautiful
and our hearts are so happy.
We'll return, for in the sky there's a moon,
many, many sweet things I'll say to you.
We'll count the stars, one by one,
and for each star I'll give you a kiss.
How delightful it's to ride
in a horse-drawn carriage,
and in the horse-drawn carriage
wrap your arm around your beauty.
In the driver's seat, the coachman
doesn't lose sight of us;
he looks inside the coach
then smiles and turns a blind eye.
The horse knows how to go
if it's a couple:
running won't do. The city is beautiful
and then, there's no hurry.
And, how delightful it's to ride
in a horse-drawn carriage,
and in the horse-drawn carriage
wrap your arm around your beauty.
