With a broken sigh,

I'll step away from the black railing,

From the water far below,

On which He used to walk.

He was the same age as I am now,

Yet I'm completely different -

He laid down His life for us,

While I'm just looking for peace [of mind].

Each one will have to ask oneself:

What have I accomplished on Earth, what have I achieved?

Everyone will reach this point, each in their own time.

Some will turn back, and some will step forward.

I have silver on my temples

A golden seal on my lips

I still believe in good

And I still don't believe in fear

I've left my footprint in the dust,

And the ground won't swallow it.

If my light would be remembered,

Then this cup would be taken away from me.
