Xocalı [English translation]
Xocalı [English translation]
I saw a village far away
And green hillsides in my dream
Girls were carrying water with shy steps
Knees were touching to roses
Birds were singing, the river was waving
Lake, children of the village, fruits and garden
People were shining
I kissed the hands of old mothers
Gathered at the dinner table, salt, bread
This heaven, this family, this merry people
Old and young, everyone were together
And this beautiful village was named Khojaly...1
Then the bullets rained from the sky
The flowers on the ground were gone
It was as if people were dying
Petals were falling
The bullets rained from the sky
Timeless endings
Pure girls
Beautiful, just like angels
Bloody wounds on their bodies
And the rivers turned red
Yesterday's laughter were covered by the snow today
Salt and bread were covered with bloody clay
Father and son were hanged on a same tree
My god, how hard it is
To wrap these wounds
How hard it is
To understand without speaking
To bury the unworn white dresses of brides
The bullets rained from the sky
The flowers on the ground were gone
It was as if people were dying
Petals were falling
The bullets rained from the sky
The flowers on the ground were gone
It was as if people were dying
Petals were falling...
