Haunted Mansion is ready to spook Disney+ customers in October.
Disneys kid-friendly horror comedy, which is inspired by the classic theme park attraction, will hit the streamer on Oct. 4. Directed by Justin Simien (Dear White People, Bad Hair), Haunted Mansion follows single mother Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) and her 9-year-old son (Chase Dillon), who enlist the help of so-called spiritual experts to exterminate their home of various ghosts, ghouls and ghastly creatures.
Coming 20 years after Eddie Murphys The Haunted Mansion, the new film stars LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Dawson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Jared Leto and more. Katie Dippold wrote the screenplay.

The result is certainly a lot less frightening than the prospect of having to revisit the 2003 Eddie Murphy version, which paled in comparison with that years Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl on all fronts (but didnt seem half as desperate as 2002s Country Bears).
