Advocatus Diaboli [English translation]

Rivers run over, the sea level rises,

the poles melt and the Earth trembles.

The future of our children,

we have very rapidly blown it,

Now comes the end for everything that lives here.

We were possibly naive, admittedly even bad/evil sometimes,

but with respect, who has so designed us that way?

The Earth was very beautiful, that you have to say,

and (you have) carried out all that seemed feasible.

Your Honor we are hungry,

for knowledge and for power,

this has after all brought us really far forward.

So real our dreams,

and so near the world space,

perhaps we are God’s own childhood dream.

Lastly the charge (to us) read,

“To you power to subdue the Earth”

and nothing else have we then done.

And now you blame us, for our civil obedience.

Your Honor, we quite seldom had such a good laugh.
