Freiheit [English translation]

Because this album is called "Freedom,"

many will ask me, what Freedom means to me.

What a great feeling.

What great expectations I have.

What great responsibility, what a great burden.

To describe what freedom means to me, what a great obstacle.

I can only contribute my small part.

Freedom cannot be contained, freedom must be exhaled.

Freedom, freedom

is the only thing that counts.

Freedom, freedom.

Freedom means to be how I am, freedom means to me to make mistakes like a child.

And when it must be, I just fall down.

But I stand up again, freedom means not to hesitate, but instead run.

If you know what you want, then do it, if not then do it anyway.

Freedom means free speech, free actions, free staying.

Walls that, out of fear of failure, were constructed--tear them down, have courage.

Freedom means also to disappoint, to fulfill yourself

instead of the expectations of other people.

Freedom means also to make decisions.

Freedom means the freedom to change your mind back and forth.

Freedom means sometimes it even makes sense,

that my freedom must end where another's freedom begins.

But freedom may never mean renouncing our rights

to live, to strive, and to talk about them freely.

Despite that, many people don't know you, they fight for you

Many with speech, silence, and prayers, others with machetes

because other perspectives are missing
