Jałta [English translation]
Jałta [English translation]
As if brand new, Tsars' residence,
Servants know their duties.
Out - were Tatars displaced from here
Where a verdict over the world is about to be delivered.
Windows can already see, walls can hear
How over a cigar coughs the Lion,
How creaks the pushed wheelchair
With the crippled Democrat in the background.
But no one can see and no one can hear
What the Highlander is doing this Crimean night,
When, with a gesture, into his devoted comrades
He instils his legendary might.
Do not hold a grudge against Stalin,
He wasn't the one behind all of this.
After all it's not his fault
That Roosevelt in Yalta was out of strength.
When the Triumvirate jointly mulled
Over the world's historic shape,
- It's well known who played the part of Caesar -
And this how Yalta needs to be understood.
In the wan ember of the cigar's butt,
The Albion Lion's face floated.
"Let's not talk about the Baltic,
Why would Europe need so many countries?"
"Poles? All that matters
is that they finally have somewhere to live."
"There are always problems with this Poland,"
The Cripple worries and shudders.
But the Host calms them down,
With his palm caressing his yellowed moustache.
"My country will give them a helping hand,
Then, let they govern as they wish."
Do not hold a grudge against Churchill,
He wasn't the one behind all of this,
After all the Triumvirate was only needed
So that Stalin would get what he wanted.
Who deeply cares for peace
Will always hold off before violence -
The one to win is the one who doesn't fear wars,
And this how Yalta needs to be understood.
The palace wall strains its ear,
When to the Cripple the Lion says,
"I trust the sincerity of Stalin's words,
Surely he cares for the Soviet blood."
And the Cripple nods in agreement,
The unwavering democracy's guard,
"Stalin is the man of this century,
He is the patriot, he is the chief!"
For the alliance of the great is not a conspiracy;
It is the future of the world - freedom, order -
Thanks to it even the weak shall survive
And his share he will receive - of loses!
Do not hold a grudge against Roosevelt
Think of how much he had to bear.
Pipes, cigar smoke and the bottle,
Churchill, who about alliances didn't give a damn.
And that's how the three empires debated,
Over the borders, which were blurred:
- And then in details was Beria,
And this is how Yalta needs to be understood.
So delegations flew away,
The Tsar court in Crimea fell silent.
While in the West cannons blared,
Human transports went East.
Then the free world celebrated its triumph,
In an instant the fronts got deserted,
Covered in flowers is already the president's grave,
And there - transports after transports.
A red dawn is waking after the night,
By voters' will Churchill left!
And there - transports of living people,
And there - camps of prolonged death.
So do not hold a grudge against the Trinity,
The history's verdict was behind them,
Polished to perfection -
Each of them protected what he already had.
One could be wrong, deceived by the moment...
If one wasn't a Pole nor a Balt...
Only victims are never wrong!
And this is how Yalta needs to be understood./2x
