Заветный камень [Zavetnyy kamen'] [English translation]
On the wide Black sea
cold waves raises as billow
The last sailor left Sevastopol
In struggle with waves he left
And scary, salt, stormly val
Was breaking wave after wave to sailor's boat
In the mist far distance
No one chanse to see earth
All the ships left far away
Sailors-friends pulled out this hero
Water of the storm was boiling
And sailor one stone hold with his blue hand (from cold)
And quitly said before death:
"When i left my motherland
I took a piece of granite with me
i did it for remember about my homeland
For remember it in the far lands!
Who will take this stone please give me an oath
That you will carry it with honour
And you will back first to the home-bay
And never forget this oath!
This stone all day all night
Sailor's heart burns by flame
Like shrine save my granite stone
It was washing in russian blood"
Through storm and through fire will come this stone
And honorably will stay to his place
Well known seagull will wave with wings
And heart will beat calm
Black sea sailor, which gave new war glory to Motherland
Will go to this clif
And in peace far distance
Will go ships
Under the sun of Homeland!
