godheadSilo: Share The Fantasy

News   2024-07-02 05:42:05

Ah, the old days, when drum-and-bass was not synonymous with a low stoner groove, but instead represented the rhythm section of a real band, or the sum total of instruments played by the contemptuous onslaught of sound known as godheadSilo. Now, you can relive the glory days of 1995 with the duo's new album. Share The Fantasy shows no weakness in godheadSilo's iron reign over guitar-free rockers. The band chews up its punk, metal and grindcore influences/idols, then spits out something with characteristics of each, without quite resembling any of them. Share The Fantasy starts out with the furious sludge of "Friend Island," cools to an irate clamor for a few songs, shudders to a halt with an evil cover of one of Phil Collins' only listenable songs, "In the Air Tonight," then fully resumes its badness. Turn it up loud enough, and it will loosen your fillings, crumble the foundation of your house, and render you sterile forever. Two goofy-looking guys have never rocked this hard before.
