De szeretnék [English translation]
De szeretnék [English translation]
Sitting in light
And wind thrusting1
To its edge
Daring
Sunrise
Running on beach
Stumbling
Sitting in light
I'd very much like to live for oh so long as well
To watch how girls become woman then old lady
And when I get old and terribly experienced
I'll be going up but an angel's foot kicks me down
This is joking around
Walking with a wing
By Ikarusz2
But its not a bus ride
Sitting in light and wind thrusting creeping to its edge
Sunrise, running on beach, stumbling, reclining
Depreciation awakening sitting in garden creeper-creeping
Reclining sundown sitting in light squinting
I'd very much like to live for oh so long as well
To watch how girls become woman then old lady
And when I get old and terribly experienced
I'll be going up but an angel's foot kicks me down
I'd very much like to live for oh so long as well
To watch how boys become lad then men
And when I get old and terribly experienced
I'll be going up but an angel's foot kicks me down
I'd very much like to live for oh so long as well
To watch how girls become woman then old lady
And when I get old and terribly experienced
I'll be going up but an angel's foot kicks me down
1. Throughout the lyrics I kept the original tenses and sentence structure. Though these would all be grammatically correct in Hungarian, they might sound strange in English. I did this because the whole point of the Kispál és a Borz lyrics is to convey certain feelings by playing with language.2. Ikarusz was a bus manufacturer company based in Budapest and Székesfehérvár, Hungary. So this one is like saying "By Grayhound" in the USA. By the way Ikarusz is coined after the greek mythological figure Icarus, who was the son of the master craftsman Daedalus.
