Satu peikoista [English translation]
Satu peikoista [English translation]
Arms wrapped around each other
they walk through a forest,
that they do not know,
that to such small trolls seems endless.
The troll Rukka, Tangle-Hair
and the troll Heikko, Full-of-Fear
both oh-so-bravely
stand to support each other.
What would await them beyond the trees?
A flower so very beautiful,
that can't be described in words.
And the small Rukka, Tangle-Hair, wanted it for himself.
Neither of them
can feel their leaden legs
The world is not.
Around them all is illusion.
Across the frozen land
they walk hand in hand,
without glancing at each other
without saying a word.
They saw their groovy faces
on the surface of the ice.
The eyes, all watered over,
are dissappointed in their masters.
The flower died and in the tears of Tangle-Hair
did drown the troll Heikko.
That’s how it goes:
It won't always be like
Rukka, the little Tangle-Hair, wished that it would.
Strange fingers play
this instrument.
The fingers of death,
cold and stiff.
I step in through the gate.
A strange world
opens up beyond,
bleak landscapes.
Now are the words spoken.
The songs are sung.
Already at the dawn of day,
is evening dusk on its way.
When I drown in my tears,
I wish there will be left
if only the name of the beautiful flower
to live on in here.
