L'amor de les tres taronges [English translation]
L'amor de les tres taronges [English translation]
They tell of a beautiful and gallant prince
Who doesn't stop to rest even for a single moment,
And travels the earth as if by magic...
- The love of the Three Oranges,
Wouldn't you happen to know where it is?
- They say that seven giants guard it
And keep it locked behind many doors!
At night, when darkness arrives,
He sees a blue little light:
The further he goes, the further it seems to be...
- I shall reach it, if God wants it so!
They tell of a beautiful and gallant prince
Who doesn't stop to rest even for a single moment,
And travels the earth as if by magic...
Oh, oh, oh! The he-giant is grumbling!
He's caught the scent of human flesh.
The she-giant puts (the prince) away,
But the he-giant is so hungry
That he'd like to devour him
Within the same week!
The night is dark: the giant
Is snoring like the North Wind.
They tell of a beautiful and gallant prince
Who doesn't stop to rest even for a single moment,
And travels the earth as if by magic...
The giants are sleeping soundly;
They sleep with one eye open!
Little Bernard takes the Love
And, before he can be discovered,
He retakes the path of the wind:
His feet swift, his heart wide awake!
Every single of his hairs is trembling...
Oh, the night has hidden him!
They tell of a beautiful and gallant prince
Who doesn't stop to rest even for a single moment,
And travels the earth as if by magic...
Oh! Oh, the giants are nipping at his heels!
The Earth shouts at him: keep going!
He throws silk ribbons at them;
Colourful flakes that, instantly,
Cover the fields in thorns,
Knives and sheer horror,
With fire... So much so, that there isn't left
Even the shadow of a single giant.
They tell of a beautiful and gallant prince
Who doesn't stop to rest even for a single moment,
And travels the earth as if by magic...
