A mis amigos [English translation]
A mis amigos [English translation]
To my friends I owe the tenderness
and the encouraging words and the hug;
the sharing with them all of the bill
that life presents us, step by step.
To my friends I owe the patience
to tolerate my most sharpened spines;
the outbursts of mood swings, the negligence,
the foolishness, the fears and the doubts.
A fragile paper ship,
seems at times the friendship
but the most violent storm
cannot overcome it
because this paper ship,
has attached to its helm
as captain and helmsman:
a heart.
To my friends I owe the rages
that perturbed without wanting our harmony;
we all know that it cannot be a sin
arguing, for once, over nonsense.
To my friends i will entail when i die
my devotion in a guitar chord
and, in between the forgotten verses of a poem,
my poor incorrigible soul of a cricket.
A fragile paper ship,
seems at times the friendship
but the most violent storm
cannot overcome it
because this paper ship,
has attached to its helm
as captain and helmsman:
a heart.
My friend if this Copla, like the wind,
reclaims you wherever you want to hear it,
you will be plural, because the emotion demands it
when it comes to soul friends.
