Castillos en el aire [English translation]
Castillos en el aire [English translation]
"He wanted to fly like a seagull
free in the air, through the air, free"
and everyone else said, "poor idiot,
he doesn't know that it's impossible to fly!"
But he raised his dreams toward the sky
and little by little, he gained altitude,
and everyone else stayed on the ground
trying to keep their sanity.
And he built castles in the air
in broad sunlight, with cotton clouds,
in a place where no one had ever
managed to reach through reason.
And he built magnificent windows,
filled with light, magic and color,
and summoned the fairy of things
that has a lot to do with love.
In everyone else, seeing him so happy,
alarm got spread, rules were created,
"Just in case it is contagious..."
to try to live so happily like that.
The conclusion is simple and telling,
he was sentenced, for his lunacy,
to live again together with people,
dressed of sanity.
For building castles in the air
in broad sunlight, with cotton clouds,
in a place where no one had ever
managed to reach through reason.
And for opening magnificent windows,
filled with light, magic and color,
and summoning the fairy of things
that have a lot to do with love.
Here ends the story of the idiot
that through the air, like the air, free,
once wanted to fly like a seagull...
but that's impossible... isn't it?
